Malifaux 2E: Ten Thunders - Kamaitachi

Opinions on the appearance and nature of the Kamaitachi vary wildly from each of the Kingdoms. Most people see little more than a whirlwind of dust when it appears, so descriptions range from a trio of small rodents, to a large predatory beast with sickles for claws. What is generally agreed on though is their ability to be mischievous and disruptive, as well as their threefold aspect; one to knock a man down, the second to wound him, and the third to heal him, the saying goes. It is their selective application of those three aspects that makes them so disruptive.

The Kamaitachi is playful with those it takes a liking to, pushing them about and generally trying to be helpful (although it is not above wounding and healing its current playing at the same time). To those that stand against it however, it can seem like a hurricane of razors. Others have experienced nothing more than a stiff gust of wind, and only later felt the sting of the Kamaitachis malice as the pain sets in.
