Project Scorpius has been a failure. Our attempts to capture and alter one of the Steelclaw Stingers, the giant scorpions found north of the city, has ended in disaster. Our lead engineer is dead, he went gruesomely to the poison, and our workshop is in ruins.

As you know, the plan was to alter the beast with weapons and armor, and implant a basic logic engine within its brain which would better allow it to be controlled. It was thought that its insectoid nature would make it a better candidate than more strong-willed, warm-blooded beasts. Obviously, we were wrong. Once awakened, the creature went berserk, attacking anyone in its path and ignoring our commands.
