Life after Z-Day. Once upon a time…

ZOMBIE WORLD is a card RPG where you play survivors trapped in a zombie apocalypse. It requires 2-8 players to play as their own Enclave-dwelling Survivors, and a Game Master to call the game and act out and bring the world to life. You will set up the game together, including the Settlement (a “safe” location that you and the other Survivors have taken), its Population (which includes Surviving PCs and NPCs), its Assets, its Shortfalls, and its Surroundings.

You will create your Survivor PCs using the decks, define the relationships between them to make them interesting and complex human beings, and play by describing the actions of your characters, interpreting them and using the cards from the Survivor deck to resolve moments of uncertainty. Throughout the game you will tell your own story after the arrival of the zombie apocalypse: betrayals, triumphs, failures and everything you lost along the way.

To do this, you will rely on ZOMBIE WORLD's own system, inspired by the PbtA engine, which triggers key movements based on the narration of the players. The Survivor deck contains the cards that will determine how well your action goes (Wins, Threshold, Failures, or Opportunities). In addition, the mechanics of Helping or Meddling add one more collaborative variable to the development of the action. Driven by these foundations, the narrative will flow dynamically through the experiences of your PCs and the rest of the Enclave's inhabitants as they try to survive the zombie invasion, making the game an exciting and intense adventure.
