War of the Ring - The Card Game

The card game for 2 to 4 players will compete on two teams, the Shadow and the Free Peoples, to decide the future of Middle-earth.

Designed by Ian Brody and illustrated by Antonio De Luca, Jon Hodgson, John Howe, Matteo Macchi, who are considered some of the best illustrators of Tolkien's work of all time, it allows for games of around 100 minutes for players starting at 12 years. Whether you already know the classic War of the Ring or not, this edition promises epic confrontations that will delight lovers of The Lord of the Rings.

Whether leading the hosts of Sauron, who march relentlessly from Mordor, or leading the proud men, elves, and dwarves, players will compete to score the maximum number of victory points. Each participant will use their own deck of cards, with characters and artifacts unique to their faction group.

The Free Peoples will fight to defend their ancestral lands and protect the trails, hoping that Frodo will reach Mount Doom and destroy the One Ring. At the same time, the Shadow players will try to attack quickly while undermining the hobbits' trust and corrupting the ringbearer with their darkness.

Games to War of the Ring. The card game is played in rounds, in which each player will take turns throwing cards representing characters, armies, items, and events from Tolkien's trilogy. At the end of each round, combat between opposing cards from the same battlefield and lane locations will be resolved. Winning battles in locations will often award more victory points, but having control of the lanes is key to determining the Fellowship's progress.
