ThermoArt Transparent is a highly transparent polyester and PETG-based thermoplastic designed for thermoforming parts in model making, cosplay, and creative projects. It is heat-activated starting at 70°C, becoming flexible and easy to thermoform, retaining its new shape upon cooling. Its final hardness, combined with its ease of thermoforming, allows you to create both opaque solid elements, such as armor or helmets (after painting), for example: Star Wars soldier armor or RC car bodies;and transparent visual effects with lighting, making it ideal for manufacturing visors, lenses, crystals, luminous armor, and LED-lit decorations. Once cooled, the material hardens, gaining resistance to wear and minor impacts, ensuring durability without adding unnecessary weight.
It is heat-activated, generally with a heat gun or domestic oven, allowing for precise molding before It hardens upon cooling and, thanks to its ability to adhere to itself while hot, requires no glue to join pieces, allowing for the easy construction of solid and complex structures. Although part of the ThermoArt range, this transparent version is not suitable for recycling scraps to create putty, which is a significant difference compared to other variants in the Green Stuff World thermoplastic family. However, it is a material that can be used with vacuum thermoforming machines to create complex pieces or worked with a heat gun or hot water for hand modeling. For vacuum thermoforming, and when heating ThermoArt Transparent pieces larger than A4, a wider heat source, such as an oven, was required to heat the material evenly. If a suitable oven is not available, heating stoves can be used, or multiple heat guns simultaneously. Painted or vinyl-coated on the inside, it offers a Spectacular glossy finish on the outside, perfect for simulating armor or metal bodies, glass, fire, magic, energy effects, or high-tech surfaces. Its low weight makes it an ideal choice for pieces that need to be worn for hours, such as helmets, masks, gems, or decorative elements on costumes. Its homogeneous surface facilitates the direct application of both acrylic and flexible paints, achieving professional finishes without the need for excessive additional preparation.
If you are looking for a thermoplastic that is easy to thermoform with a vacuum thermoformer, with a low activation temperature, the ThermoArt Transparent is the best option for your projects that require vacuum thermoforming in cosplay, crafts, and vacuum modeling.
