Though considered diminutive compared to most Northlanders, lake crawlers display a lethality that belies their diminutive stature. Rarely detected and almost never seen, Pathfinders stalk forces larger than themselves to bring information back to their commanders and harass the enemy's unprotected and vulnerable flanks. Since they cannot withstand direct engagement with regular infantry, Pathfinders never linger where they might be drawn into a pitched battle. In terms of mobility, few enemy units are equipped to catch up with them except for opposing cavalry; however, judicious commanders are aware of this limitation and willingly accept it in exchange for the tremendous lethality that scouts bring to the battlefield.
