A Song of Ice and Fire: Caja de inicio Martell

The banner of the Martells waves in Sunspear as a symbol of the control this Great House exercises over southern Westeros thanks to its ranks among some of the fastest troops involved in the War of the Five Kings. Its military doctrine consists of attacking quickly and forcefully and avoiding the subsequent counterattack. Because of this, the bulk of his armies are made up of spearmen and skirmishers, while flanking and skirmishing actions are left to his Sunspear stalkers, who are one of his elite units. However, it is in his steadfast leadership that the true power of House Martell is embodied, as Prince Doran rules his High House from Sunspear while Prince Oberyn does the same on the battlefields. In addition, Areo Hotah's bravery has seen him win many battles through sheer determination, and Ellaria Arena's political intrigues keep her enemies in the constant uncertainty of where and when House Martell will strike next.
