Masters of surprise attack, the outriders of House Stark are able to engage enemy flanks and escape with ease. Because of their extraordinary speed and excellent training, it is almost impossible to capture them. Their main weaknesses are getting into difficult terrain or being at the mercy of enemy fire from a protected position. Unprotected ranged fighters, on the other hand, are the outrider's natural prey. An outrider unit can quickly go beyond the actual firing range and take down a unit of archers in no time. Although their penetration power cannot compete with the heavily armored knights armed with lances, they do not have to attack head-on to do so.
