At the beginning of the 2nd century BC, the Roman Republic has just defeated its worst nightmare, the Carthaginian Hannibal. After annexing the Carthaginian possessions on the Mediterranean coast of Hispania, it organizes them into the Ulterior and Citerior provinces and orders its praetors to complete the conquest of the peninsula, inhabited by peoples without cohesion. But these Hispanias turn out to be a fearsome enemy...

HISPANIA is a cooperative and also competitive game, in which between 1 and 4 players take on the role of all the praetors and consuls that Rome had to send to Hispania for two centuries. Their objective will be to subdue all the peoples of the peninsula before the turn of the millennium in order to incorporate Hispania into the budding empire, emulating its first emperor Caesar Augustus. The fate of Hispania is now in your hands!
How to play
The objective in Hispania games is to gain control of all areas by installing garrisons in the Hispanic capitals.
We will have to do this before the revolts spread too far and the revolt discs run out or we reach the last turn, at the end of the millennium. In either of these two cases, we will have lost the game.
Our turn playing Hispania
In each turn, each player receives a number of denarii, with which they can carry out the actions of the game:

- Attack a Hispanic army.
- Siege a city in revolt.
- Movement: To move your general or a fleet.
- Place or remove garrisons from a city.

The Hispanic turn
Once the players have exhausted their actions, the Hispanic threat spreads across the map, spreading the revolt and moving the Hispanic armies to try to take over new cities.
All armies try to move. The Carpetanian army starts, connected to Capara and Abula, without revolt. It rolls the die to decide which one it goes to. Then the Lusitanian army moves, which is connected to only one city, Conimbriga, so it goes to it. Since there is a garrison, it besieges it. Finally, the Galician army is connected to four cities in its province. Since all of them have revolted, a die is rolled to decide which one it moves to.
Combat
When our general is adjacent to an army or a city with revolt, we can engage in combat (or besiege, in the case of the city).
To do this, we compare the Roman attack value, which is influenced by:

- The denarii used in the attack.
- The value of the garrisons connected to the General.
- The support of other Generals present in the battle.

In the example above, the blue Consul can attack the Galician army in Bracara, spending, for example, 2 denarii, which he would add to his roll, in addition to the 2 garrisons connected to him (Noega and Asturica) and multiply by 2 for the support of the yellow praetor. The Galician army would add to the die the 3 revolts connected to it.
Our General can be defeated in battle, consuming resources and increasing the recruitment effort of new armies after the defeat.
