Some say he departed peacefully in his sleep, crowned by the love of his advisors and subjects, “a fitting farewell to a benevolent age.” Others insist that this tyrannical king, abandoned, weak, and exhausted, now wanders the windswept wilderness “with wild eyes and utterly alone.” Elsewhere, whispers are heard in moonlit gatherings; his advisors and closest relatives barely manage to utter the word “murder.” Rumors say he has hidden himself “on ships adorned with feathers and foam,” ready to trace new empires of blue and gold in ink.

Whatever the truth, no one now occupies the throne, and the kingdom's crown has remained unclaimed for far too long.

You are an heir to this vast realm and the leader of your own faction.

Harness the strength, cunning, and charisma of your followers to outmaneuver your rivals. Utilize spies and agents to advance your cause. Seize control of strategic locations with war machines, decoys, and diversionary tactics. Far from the front lines, your people traverse the ancient roads that crisscross the land, seeking allies, artifacts, and sites of significance in this half-buried kingdom. Ultimately, every heir seeks the same thing: to amass enough influence to claim the old king's crown.

The Old King's Crown is a card-based conquest game in which you play as the heir to a vacant throne and vie for control of an ancient, overgrown kingdom. Utilize unique abilities and leverage the traits of your followers to outwit your opponents on a map that stretches from the castle heights to the dappled light of the necropolis.

As the leader of your faction, you will openly assert your rights with heralds and secretly position your forces, hoping to claim locations that suit your plans. However, keep a close eye on your rivals, as they too have agents and agendas, ready to thwart your best-laid plans.

Royalty, rebels, or cunning. Which crown will you wear?

The Old King's Crown: Players move their herald to different locations, hoping to claim them.

Then, players simultaneously play cards from their hand, face down, onto regions of the board. These are then revealed and resolved.

Winning these confrontations will grant various rewards that will improve your standing and ultimately lead to the game's main objective: influence.

The player with the most influence at the end of a predetermined number of rounds is declared the winner.
