One player takes command of the rebel forces, determined to crush the resistance and take Oviedo at any cost. The other leads the Republican forces, determined to keep the flame of defense alive and resist to the last breath.

Game Objective

Asturias 36-37 is a game where both players must balance attack and defense, adapting to the changing circumstances of the confrontation. The Republican player seeks to maintain control of Asturias and resist the advance of the rebel forces, defending key positions and exhausting the opponent's resources. The rebel player must conquer Asturian territory, breaking through the Republican lines and reaching the city of Oviedo before it falls to the Republicans.

This game offers a wealth of innovations: the intuitive combat system that doesn't require tables; alternating game rounds defined by resource points; the presence of essential supply lines on the map; and, not forgetting the strategic cards, which, while not the core of the game, are very important as they introduce historical events and political actions, adding significant tactical depth.

Each side has tokens representing the military forces of the era present on this battlefront, such as African troops, dynamiters, Santander and Basque brigades, and the countless militias that fought with equal tenacity for both sides.
