Marrakech (Devir Next) (Spanish)

The rug market in the Marrakech square is bustling; the most skilled merchant is soon to be named. Each player aims to have the most rugs displayed by the end of the game and to amass the greatest fortune.

Designed by Dominique Ehrhard, Marrakech is a true classic for 2 to 4 players (ages 7 and up), with games lasting around 20 minutes. The game challenges players to spread rugs of their color across the board and accumulate as many dirhams as possible.

The real star of Marrakech is Assam. This pawn represents a merchant in the central square who is responsible for laying out the players' rugs. On each turn, players move Assam across the board based on a die roll. If the pawn lands on an opponent's rug, the active player must pay a number of dirhams equal to the size of the connected area covered by that rug. Finally, the active player must place one of their own rugs so that at least one side is adjacent to the Assam pawn.

The game ends when the last rug is placed. Each player scores 1 point for every visible half-rug of their color in the market and for every dirham they possess. The player with the highest total score wins the game.

Marrakech is part of the Devir Next collection, a line designed for players who have already enjoyed titles like Catan or Carcassonne and wish to further explore the hobby of board gaming. It is the perfect opportunity to add this classic to your collection, as even the youngest family members can play thanks to its simple rules and accessible mechanics.
