Orichalco is a race... against your opponents. The first player to get 5 victory points and kill all the Creatures on their Island wins the game! There are 3 ways to earn victory points: attracting the attention of the Titans, erecting Temples, and forging valuable Orichalcum Medallions, the legendary metal that only the inhabitants of Atlantis know how to mine.

At the beginning of each turn, choose 1 action card from those available on the action board. Each card carries 2 consequences: it determines the Terrain tile you will place on your Island and the action you can take this turn. Terrain tiles represent the explored parts of your Island. Terrain types determine your ability to Build Buildings and Temples, so their location can be crucial. Also, creating groups of Terrains of the same type allows you to attract the attention of the Titans… and take advantage of their powerful Favor. Some Terrains, such as Volcanoes, are inhabited by hostile Mythological Creatures, but Capturing them will grant you their Loot, as well as the chance to tip the game in your favor. Of course, this has a cost and that is that you will have to engage in a Combat whose outcome may be uncertain. Without forgetting that, to rise as the victor of Orichalco, you will have to get rid of all the Creatures on your Island.

To achieve victory, the 4 actions of the game will help you. You will have to Capture Creatures to get rid of their presence on your Island. Recruiting Hoplites will increase your Combat strength and allow you to choose from more action cards. Building will earn you victory points for forging Orichalcum Medallions and erecting Temples. In addition, it will help you develop the capabilities of your civilization through the Buildings you Build. Lastly, if you plan to win by forging some valuable Orichalcum Medallions, you will need to Produce Orichalcum for victory points.
