More info

It was supposed to be a leisurely cruise across the Atlantic aboard the ship MS Batory. The promise of an unforgettable voyage from Gdynia to New York drew notable personalities to the ship's deck, eager to take part in the adventure of a lifetime. No one suspected that scenes taken straight from best-selling crime novels would soon take place aboard the legendary ocean liner. The daring theft of Countess Pawlicka's priceless jewelery has shaken passengers and crew members alike. However, the most shocking fact is the undeniable truth that the thief is hiding among them...

MS Batory is a deduction game that innovatively uses a three-dimensional game board. Players assume the role of detectives, and their task will be to identify the thief as quickly as possible. Each character out of thirteen suspects has a unique set of characteristics: gender, age, and role. Players will ask each other questions, based on which they will be able to determine the innocence of the suspects. At the beginning of the game, one of the cards representing the characters will be selected at random and set aside - this character is a thief. The rest of the remaining cards will be dealt among the detectives.

The player's round consists of two phases:

1. Movement Phase

Players move characters around the deck of MS Batory. They have at their disposal a three-dimensional ship, consisting of several dozen rooms, located on the three separate decks. During this phase, players will move characters and perform different tasks, such as: "Meet Crew Member" or "Go to Observation Deck". By performing those actions, they will get question cards, which are used later during the investigation phase. Characters need to move around the ship so that the current task is completed as many times as possible. In the meantime, it must be remembered that the arrangement created by the character's placement can either hinder or help when it comes time to ask questions in the investigation phase.

2. Investigation Phase

During the movement phase, players had gained question cards. Each of these cards contains a trait: age, gender, role, number, room, or deck. Using these cards, the player will formulate a single question, which they will ask another detective. This question can be of any type, but must be based on the question cards available to the player.

For example, when in possession of the cards: "gender" and "deck", the player can ask to another detective "Are there any women among your characters who are currently on the lookout?" On the other hand, having a more varied set of cards like "age," "role," "number," and "room" allows you to ask more detailed questions like, "How many of your middle-aged crew members are currently in the cabin?" The cleverly asked question allows the detective to eliminate more characters from his list of suspects, without giving too many clues to the rest of the players.

The winner is the detective who first identifies the thief!
