Jungo (Spanish)

Welcome to Jungo! A bunch of colorful monkeys have been shuffled into your hand and are so comfortable that they don't want to move. You must combine them wisely to get rid of them before your opponents do and then be able to eat your banana in peace. Ready to play?

Designed by Toshiki Arao and illustrated by Laura Michaud (Hanabi, Trio), this card game can be enjoyed by groups of 3 to 5 players aged 10 and up. Jungo challenges us to get rid of all the cards before our opponents do, by forming and throwing sets of cards.

Easy to learn and fun to play, Jungo is the perfect companion for any trip or the ideal complement to an after-dinner conversation. After shuffling the cards, 8 or 10 are dealt (depending on the number of participants) and each player looks at them secretly. At this point Jungo's great golden rule applies: the order of the cards in the hand cannot be changed.

On their turn, players can play one or more cards or draw from the central deck. If they decide to play cards, they must all have the same value, be adjacent in their hand, and if there is already a combination on the table, the combination played must be higher, either because they have more cards or because their value is higher. Once the combination has been surpassed, the player must decide whether to add the surpassed combination to their hand (in this case, adding it wherever they want in their hand) or discard it. If they want to draw a card, the player can add it wherever they want in their hand, discard it, or appeal to Jung's law. This means that they can play a combination with the drawn card. When a player has no cards left in their hand, they win the game.

Among the cards included in the game, there are some that are special. These are cards with double value, which can take on one of the two indicated values, at the choice of whoever plays them. In each turn, players must think carefully about whether or not they want to play cards to try to get rid of them as quickly as possible. In short, Jungo offers hours of entertainment in exchange for very few rules. Will you master the art of combos to win the game?
