In Mino Dice players try to predict the outcome of dice battles, and the one who predicts most accurately will be the winner of the contest.
The game includes seven types of dice: minotaurs, griffins, mermaids, and four types of number dice. The game lasts 6 to 8 hands, depending on the number of players, and in each round each player draws from the bag a number of dice equal to the current hand, for example, five dice for the fifth hand, then places them behind his screen, keeping these dice secret from everyone. After getting his dice, each player simultaneously bets the number of tricks he thinks he will win during the round by placing the fingers of his hand. Record these bets on the score sheet.
The first player in a hand chooses a die behind his screen and then rolls it in public. If he rolls a number die, each of the other players must roll a number die of that color, if possible; otherwise, he rolls a die of his choice. Alternatively, a player can always roll a minotaur, griffin, or mermaid die. After each player has rolled, see who has the highest die and claims this trick. A rolled flag is a 0 and cannot win the trick. The minotaur beats the griffin, which beats the mermaid, which beats the minotaur, and all of these special characters beat the numbers. If no one rolls a special character, the highest number rolled wins the trick, and the tie is broken in favor of whoever rolled last. The player who wins the trick collects the dice in front of his screen and then chooses a die from his collection to begin the next trick.
After all tricks have been claimed, players add up points. If you made your bid exactly, score 20 points for each trick you made; if you botched your bid, lose 10 points for each trick in which your bid was incorrect, whether higher or lower. If you made zero tricks and succeeded, you get 10 points for each trick in the hand; if you fail on a 0 bet, you lose 10 points for each trick in the hand, regardless of how many tricks you made. If you made your bet and captured a minotaur with a mermaid without also capturing a flag, you score 50 bonus points; similarly, if you capture a griffin with a minotaur without capturing a flag, you score 30 bonus points.
Whoever has the highest total score after the last hand is completed wins.
