Pagan: Beyond the Palisades

The Expansion Pagan: Beyond the Palisades introduces two new mechanics to Pagan: Gloom and Cleanse.
Gloom is a new resource that benefits the Witch player as long as it is in play. It symbolizes the Witch's symbiotic
relationship with the lands. Gloom enters the game through the play of Gloom-cards and can be reduced or increased
during a game. Some cards can even break the natural limits of the Gloom on the cards.
With sufficient effort and focus, it is possible to cleanse the Gloom encroaching on the village. Cleansing a card is done  by removing every last bit of Gloom. Once a card is cleansed it is discarded.

• "Beyond the Palisades" introduces Gloom, a potent new resource that empowers the Witch player, reflecting their deep connection to the land. 
• By investing time and effort, the Witch Hunter can eliminate Gloom, discarding these cards to counter the Witch’s influence on the game.
• This expansion deepens the tactical layers of Pagan by offering more paths for both players. The Witch can amplify their influence with potions, charms, and the new Gloom resource, while the Witch Hunter gains tools for actively combating Gloom.
• Builds on the asymmetry of Pagan, adding unique resources and actions for both roles. The Witch’s new enchantments and Gloom mechanics contrast with the Witch Hunter’s cleansing abilities and sharpened investigative tactics.
• This expansion adds thematic depth, allowing players to explore the symbiotic conflict between Witch and Witch Hunter, with the Witch’s power literally rooted in the land and the Witch Hunter’s cleansing skills representing the village's fight for purity.
