110 AD The Roman Empire is at its height, ruled by the Emperor “optimus princeps” Trajan. The borders are secure and attention is turned to the interior of the empire, Rome.

Seize the opportunity and gain power! By choosing the best strategies you will be able to tactically outmaneuver your opponents and finally achieve victory.

In Trajan, players will try to score victory points by tactically choosing from six different actions. The key to success is the optimal distribution of the markers in the bowls of the action hex. Players must perform certain actions at the right time. On the one hand, it is important to take advantage of the opportunities that arise, such as getting the best tiles, but at the same time, players must not forget to make it difficult for their opponents in critical situations.

The game takes place over four quarters, with each quarter consisting of 4 rounds. On their turn, each player will rearrange the action markers and move the time marker, execute a Trajan tile (if possible), and have a chance to perform an action. As the game progresses, all players must respond to the requests of the town if they do not want to lose valuable victory points. At the end of the game, players will earn victory points for completed product cards, workers and legionnaires, Trajan and bonus tiles, and groups of building tiles.
