The Lord of the Rings: Travels in Middle-earth - Winds of war

There are difficulties now on all our borders and we are threatened; but we only want to be free and live as we have lived up to now, preserving what is ours and not serving any strange lord, good or bad. In better times we entertained those who came to see us, but at this time strangers who have not been invited find us ready for anything. Go! Who are you? Who do you serve?
–Éomer, The Two Towers
