Fortunes can be made and gambled according to circumstances. In East India Companies, players run a large shipping company that trades with the far-flung trading posts of India. They must manage their ships and invest in buying shares in their own company and those of their competitors. And above all, the players have to keep an eye on the constantly fluctuating market rates! Is it better to invest your money in the stock exchange or in buying goods? Is it better to use fast ships with small tonnage or slower ships with larger loaders? Whatever the players, their strategy will influence that of their opponents.
