More info

In Pax Pamir, each player takes on the role of a leader in 19th-century Afghanistan. The goal: the ?state? rebuild after the collapse of the Durrani Empire. This period of time is called ?The big? Game? called because the Europ? tried to make Central Asia the arena of their rivalries. In Pax Pamir, the European empires are viewed from the perspective of the Afghans. The Afghans tried to use the invading Ferengi (triggers) for their own ends.

Mechanically, Pax Pamir is a pretty straight forward ?tableau developer?. Most players buy cards from the central market and play them in a horizontal row ? Hof called - in front of you. Playing cards brings units onto the board and access to more actions that affect

other players and the gameplay. Although each player builds their own deck of cards, Pax Pamir allows for many ways to interact with fellow players ? direct and indirect.

To survive, players join a coalition. In this game, coalitions are determined by their sponsors. Two of the coalitions (Britain and Russia) are supported by European funds. The third coalition (Afghanistan) is supported by elements that want to end European

interference in the region.

Pax Pamir is an interactive historical game dealing with dealing with politics and power in Afghanistan.

Pax Pamir was penned by Cole Wehle, best-selling author of Root, Oath, John Company and An Infamous Traffic.
