Welcome to the Divine Contest: They Who Were 8!
In the mystical realms of gods and goddesses, a fierce competition is underway. These mercurial beings, prone to both envy and nobility, vie for the ultimate prize: a tale of mythic victory that will echo through the ages. In the game of They Who Were 8, players step into the sandals of ancient bards, tasked with immortalizing the glories of their deities and shielding them from the stain of infamy.
The game can be played in two different ways:
Titanomachy:
A game for 2-4 players trying to achieve an individual victory.
Pantheon:
A partnership game for 4 players, played in two teams of 2.
Invoke the powers of your gods to influence the narrative. Will you emphasize their valor, compassion, or cunning? The choice is yours. Craft a story so compelling that the gods' glory outshines their darker aspects, ensuring their legends endure. Choose your tales wisely, for they will echo through generations, shaping the beliefs of believers and immortalizing the gods in the annals of history.
Will your gods be revered as paragons of virtue, or will their infamy overshadow their greatness? The fate of the divine pantheon lies in your hands. Embrace the challenge, harness the power of storytelling, and etch your gods' names into the stars as symbols of eternal glory. May your tale be remembered through the ages!
They Who Were 8 is the #8 game in the Sanders Select Series of games, which are all designed &illustrated by Todd Sanders. Besides their clever mechanisms, they all also share a distinct style often described as minimalist, almost poetic. The game was inspired by a cycle of poems by Todd Sanders written in 1999. The poems are fragments of a larger ancient saga, lost to time.Contents:- 9 God tiles
