In Pirates of Maracaibo, players embark on a journey filled with decisions: trade, exploration, naval battles, and strategic alliances in a Caribbean dominated by the great colonial powers. Its tactical richness and replayability have made it one of the great modern benchmarks in board games.

You now play the role of a notorious ship commander or a feared captain, whose special abilities bring even more tactical options to the game. Plus, you can now equip your ship with cannons to assault the fortifications of certain islands—there are also riches to be found! New explorer boards, cards, and the rum trade take Pirates of Maracaibo to a whole new level. Raise anchor, the final journey begins!

As the gunpowder smoke clears, a white flag flutters over the shattered walls of the Spanish fortification. We've defeated the fort and its defenders, and now nothing stands between us and the riches undoubtedly piled up in its storerooms. Our commander, Flintlock Frank, who has recently developed an obsession with cannons, looks at his crew with satisfaction. This victory should be celebrated with the finest rum in the Caribbean.

On the other hand, the rum could also be sold to the nearest grimy tavern, as there's never a shortage of dry gullets on the surrounding islands. It's said that Dabora Des has built a veritable rum empire, even though his ship is too low in the water. It barely moves due to the countless barrels of rum in its hold. Rumors are swirling that the infamous Ravaging Rajesh and his comrade have uncovered countless treasures in the jungle, and many more await us in the most forbidden corners.
