Tsukimi is a board game in which two rabbit clans ascend to the moon for a night of mochi and rivalry. Your mission is to cleverly position your rabbits, claim the most valuable sweets, and prevent the opposing clan from getting the best morsels. Foresight, tactics, and a keen eye will determine who devours the most mochi by the end of the festival.

Lunar Strategy: Every Move Matters

Inspired by the traditional Japanese moon-gazing festival, this abstract game pits two players against each other on a circular board where mochi tiles are placed one by one. To obtain a tile, you may have to discard rabbits based on their distance from the outer temple. Each mochi tile must be placed next to another already in play, forming groups that expand across the lunar surface.

After placing a tile, you can activate its effect: add rabbits to nearby corners or move those already in play. Rabbits are key to controlling the mochis, as each piece will ultimately belong to the clan with the most surrounding pieces. Furthermore, forming groups of three identical mochis allows you to eliminate a rival rabbit, opening up new strategic opportunities.

Once all pieces are on the board, the values ​​of the controlled mochis are added up, and the clan with the most points wins the festival. For those seeking an extra challenge, the Dark Side of the Moon variant adds stricter rabbit management, with rabbits being recruited and discarded from a common pool.
