Diamant 2024

Diamant is a push-your-luck game created by Bruno Faidutti and Alan R. Moon, in which we must represent explorers who want to keep as many diamonds as possible. To achieve this, they must, in each turn, make the wise decision of whether to advance on their journey or stop before perishing.

Diamant is a very fast and fun game, easy to start playing, where you must constantly push your luck. You will have to venture into a cave that reveals treasures and mysteries that, as an adventurer, you want to get. In Diamant, players must take each turn making the decision of whether or not to enter the cave, using two cards: one to say that they will enter and another to say that they will leave. They must choose the one they consider appropriate and place it face down in the center of the table.

All players must reveal their hidden card at the same time. If the final decision was to continue, they will have to reveal a new card from the deck to represent the cave and, depending on the number drawn, that will be the amount of diamonds that the explorers will have found. Since they are good companions, they must divide the total amount equally, leaving the remaining diamonds on the card. But be careful, since some cards contain traps, and if the trap is repeated for the second time in a game round, all players who had decided to continue will fall into it and lose all the diamonds obtained in the round. Players who leave the game and want to return so as not to be exposed to the traps of the cave, can take the diamonds left behind along the way and keep the ones they have in their chests.

Without much further complexity, Diamant presents us with an entertaining and fast game with a fairly simple push your luck mechanic to be able to share a game night with 3 to 8 friends or family members.

The great illustrators who have participated in the project of setting and creating this game are: Jorg Asselborn, Matthias Catrein, Prapach Lapamnuaysap, Paul Mafayon, Claus Stephan and, lastly, Christof Tisch. In addition, the game has been nominated and won different awards throughout the years and around the world such as: nominated in the Japan Boardgame and Prize U-More Award 2011, winner of the Golden Geek Best Light/ Party Game 2006, recommended in the Spiel des Jahres 2005 and third in the Kinderspielexperten 8-13-year-olds, among many others.
