In Periodic, you'll use energy to activate periodic trends (such as "Decrease Atomic Mass" or "Increase Atomic Radii") and strategically maneuver through the periodic table, "discovering" elements to score points. But that's not all.... You will also be able to combine the "discovery" of elements with the end of turns in specific families of elements, such as noble gases or transition metals. The theory of conservation of energy will force you to spend energy carefully and play efficiently. You must advance the academic achievement record in a race against other players, the player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins!

On your turn, choose between two actions. Can:

(1) Pay energy to activate multiple trends. The first trend costs 1 energy and each additional trend costs 2 energy. For each trend, move your jar up to 5 spaces in the allowed direction from the specific trends you have activated.

Powerfully playing active tendencies allows you to move multiple times, meaning you can move further and hopefully pick up multiple items along the way.

(2) Take all the energy accumulated in a single tendency, but only if you are able to activate it. Then, move your jar up to 5 spaces in the allowed direction from the specific trend you activated. Once you have paid the energy or taken the energy, the goal is to kill each of these trend moves on the available elements, allowing you to "discover" those elements. This is one of the main ways players get points.

The items available to be discovered are shown on the objective cards (four piles, ranging from easiest to most difficult, found on top of the game board). On each objective sheet there are a series of elements that share similarities in their properties, uses in industry, occurrence in nature, etc. Each of the elements on these objective cards will be marked on the game board with a cube, signaling to the players that it is available that round.

When a player is the first to discover all the elements on a single objective card, they will also be rewarded with the reward on that card. These rewards allow players free moves across the board, additional actions, or getting more energy.
