King of Monster Island

Monster Island is on fire! The volcano has gone into a violent eruption and monsters from all over the world are gathering on the island, what is happening? They don't even fight each other anymore! It seems that a bigger threat is lurking… Something big enough to threaten all the monsters and make them fight together against the same enemy. Designed by the legendary Richard Garfield (author of Magic: The Gathering, Mindbug or El Ansia) and illustrated by Paul Mafayon, King of Monster Island is a totally independent game from the saga that allows games of about 60 minutes to be enjoyed alone or in groups of up to 5 players, from 10 years.

Yes, you read it correctly… It is a cooperative game! In King of Monster Island, players will take the reins of giant monsters that must work together to defeat a titanic boss before they destroy the Earth. As usual in other titles in the saga, you must choose the results of your rolls wisely and prevent your life from falling to zero. All this while the Boss and his minions defend themselves and try to build the columns of a dimensional portal.

The game includes 3 different Bosses, each with two levels of difficulty. Tailor each game to your gaming group! Once you have decided on the Boss you will fight, choose your own monsters and prepare for battle. On each turn, players will roll 6 green dice a maximum of 3 times. With the results obtained, they will be able to move, attack, heal themselves, gain energy, get cards, move around the island, activate human support, or gain fame.

But beware! After each player turn, the Boss will activate. In this phase, the players must roll the red dice for the volcano and discover the effects it causes. Using the results of the dice rolled into the volcano, the Boss will move, activate his minions and attack nearby monsters. His goal: allow his minions to install the three pillars needed to activate the portal. Players will lose if the pillars are completed, but also if any of them are knocked out or all of the Boss's minions spawn.
