The Lord of the Rings: Adventure to Mount Doom

In The Lord of the Rings: Adventure to Mount Doom, players follow the story of Frodo's perilous journey to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom. His companions will protect him from the dangers he will encounter along the way. Players together control the fortunes of this enterprise by moving individual figures around the game board on a journey through many familiar locations from the beloved Lord of the Rings novels. It is important to be careful with the Nazgul while also ensuring that Frodo does not lose confidence and fall into despair. If Frodo reaches Mount Doom, all players have won together.

Character movement is controlled by a special dice mechanism. The colored dice determine which figure can move. The value of your dice determines the number of spaces a figure can travel. By choosing dice before and after rolling, players are faced with seemingly simple decisions that are nonetheless important to the outcome of the game. The black dice, which must always be rolled, trigger threats or cause encounters with enemies or friends. Encounter cards ensure a continuous and increasing threat to complete the mission.

As in most cooperative games, players must coordinate their movements and actions with each other to ensure the desired outcome.
