Broad Lines (Spanish)

Broad Lines is a party game in which players cooperate to obtain the highest score. In each round, one player will take the role of Art Critic. He will have to guess a word (or a group of words) with the help of the other players, the Artists. The Artists will take turns drawing lines on transparent sheets that they will superimpose on the easel until forming, if everything goes well, a more or less comprehensible image that makes the Art Critic understand what word represents. At the end of the game, the more words you have guessed correctly, the more points you will get.

HOW DOES A ROUND WORK?

The Art Critic draws the top card from the deck, face down, and places it on the stand so that only the Artists can see the words on it. Next, the Art Critic chooses a number from 1 to 6, with which he will be selecting one of the words on the letter. Now the task falls to the Artists to get the Art Critic to guess the word that has been selected. The player to the left of the Art Critic will be the first Artist to play. He must take one of the transparent sheets and draw on it, with the erasable marker, one of the following options: 2 straight lines or 1 curved line. Once he has finished drawing, he must place the sheet on the easel. At that moment, the art critic must try to guess the word.

WHAT TO DRAW? AND HOW?

Each Artist can use creativity at will to try to add something meaningful to the drawing they are developing, but must adhere to the following rules:
•The 2 straight lines can be joined or separated.
•The 2 straight lines can intersect.
•If you choose to draw 2 straight lines, you can draw only one, or two, but no more.
•When drawing a curved line, it cannot cross itself.
•A curved line cannot change the direction of curvature. In other words, the line must be able to be drawn completely in the same direction, whether clockwise or counterclockwise.
•A curve can be closed, so that it forms a circle or oval.
•It is not allowed to discuss between the Artists what is going to be drawn or how to draw it.
•Transparent sheets already placed on the easel cannot be removed or replaced.
•You cannot try to see if the drawing fits or not with what is already on the easel, for example by bringing the sheet closer to it or drawing nearby.
•It is not allowed to write the word or part of it.
•It is also not allowed to comment on the drawings ("that line went further to the left" or things like that).


Turns continue to be played until the Art Critic gets the word right or you decide to pass. If the Critic gets the word right or you decide to pass, the current round ends.

The real challenge for Artists is trying not only to optimize their turn as much as possible, providing as many clues as possible with their lines, but also trying to make the position in which they are drawn correct so that when they overlap the transparent sheets on the easel everything makes sense!
