In 59 BC, Gaius Julius Caesar, Gnaeus Pompey Magnus and Marcus Licinius Crassus, faced with the intransigence of the Roman Senate in the face of their particular projects and ambitions, sealed an unofficial political pact commonly known as the First Triumvirate. Thus was born a “three-headed Monster”, in the words of Varro, destined to change the course of the history of the Roman State.

Triumviratus is a flexible expansion of the ONUS! series that offers you the opportunity to take command of the armies of Gaius Julius Caesar, Gnaeus Pompey Magnus, Marcus Licinius Crassus and the civitates of Gaul, as well as an extensive selection of all-new allied and mercenary forces, to immerse yourself directly in the armed conflicts that changed the course of the history of Rome, Europe and the Near East between 59 and 44 BC.

The Julius Caesar army kit naturally allows you to put the well-known Roman proconsul and dictator, the paradigm of all later Roman generals and emperors, in command of your forces. Riding alongside him are also the resolute Titus Labienus – whose loyalty to the Republic led him to abandon Caesar and fight under Pompey's banner in 49 BC – and the energetic Mark Antony, the proconsul's right-hand man during the Civil War. The remaining 37 cards in this box of 40 offer the player emblematic units such as the X Equestris legion – the true elite of the proconsul's armies – the bold XIII Gemina or the Gauls enlisted in the V Alaudae, as well as a good number of legionary infantry resulting from the reforms of Gaius Marius – known since then, as a consequence of these reforms, as “Mario's mules” –, mercenaries such as the skilled Cretan archers and allies of the Caesarian forces such as the fearsome Germanic horsemen, a group of troops with which they aspire to bring Gaul, Rome itself… and the world to its knees!
