In 59 BC, Gaius Julius Caesar, Gnaeus Pompey Magnus and Marcus Licinius Crassus, faced with the intransigence of the Roman Senate in the face of their particular projects and ambitions, sealed an unofficial political pact commonly known as the First Triumvirate. Thus was born a “three-headed Monster”, in the words of Varro, destined to change the course of the history of the Roman State.

Triumviratus is a flexible expansion of the ONUS! series that offers you the opportunity to take command of the armies of Gaius Julius Caesar, Gnaeus Pompey Magnus, Marcus Licinius Crassus and the civitates of Gaul, as well as an extensive selection of all-new allied and mercenary forces, to immerse yourself directly in the armed conflicts that changed the course of the history of Rome, Europe and the Near East between 59 and 44 BC.

The Vercingetorix army box offers the possibility of placing at the head of the best hosts of Gaul – and of the Celtic world as a whole – those nobles and magistrates who fought most courageously against Julius Caesar's invasion. Thus, Divicon, leader of the Helvetii and first to confront the legions, Boduognantus, commander of the combined forces of the Belgae, who was on the verge of crushing the Romans at the Battle of the Sabis River (57 BC) and, of course, the young, astute and brilliant Arverni nobleman Vercingetorix, capable of uniting and raising all of Gaul against Caesar in 52 BC, to the horror of the Romans. With them comes the cream of the Gaulish forces, from heavily armed Gallic nobles and aristocrats to highly motivated Druids and hardened Helvetian foot soldiers, as well as bands of Gaesatai mercenaries and Gallic infantry… ready to kick the Romans back to their stinking, overcrowded city!
