Paleo: The Hornets

Welcome back to Prehistory, players! In this expansion module for Paleo, some giant hornets have built their nests near the camp and they seem to have very bad tempers.

Within the deck of this expansion, there are the fearsome hornet cards, to which the same rules apply as with the other red-backed cards. There will also be Avoidable Hazard cards, a mechanic that appears in Paleo's first major expansion, A New Beginning. The danger that appears can be avoided if some requirements are met. Luckily, this module also includes the ointment card, which allows you to store medicinal roots to heal group members, or burning, which is used to set nests on fire.

This module has a medium difficulty level. If you mix it with one of the easier decks, you will enjoy a more relaxed experience. However, combined with a more complicated module, the game will be a real challenge.

To enjoy the Hornets expansion module it is essential to have the base game. Paleo, the work of Peter Rustemeyer, is a cooperative game in which we put ourselves in the shoes of a group trying to survive in the Paleolithic. It is played with sets of cards that determine the dangers to face and the locations to visit. Thanks to its expansions, the possible combinations of scenarios, and therefore replayability, are counted in dozens.
