More info

Blocks in Africa includes all the most decisive battles fought in the Mediterranean Theater, from the Italian campaign to Marsa Matruh in the summer of 1940, to the collapse of the Axis forces in September 1943.

Blocks in Afrika (BiA) is a game for two players, one controls the Western Allies and the other the Axis powers. Although story-based, players can modify the outcome of World War 2 in the Mediterranean Theater. Can either side "do better" than it has in history? The answer is in your hands.

A hex is approximately 70 km in diameter.
One turn equals a month of battles.
A full strength counter represents 300 planes, 300 tanks or 30,000 men, depending on the type of unit, equipment and nationality.

INTRODUCTION OF RULES

The rules are divided into three main sections that can be learned from one in a. The first section is the BASIC GAME RULE, which introduces the fundamental concepts and allows players to start playing without too many rules to remember.
The ADVANCED GAME RULES provide more specific and detailed rules for greater realism, such as the use of fuel and the Advanced Production System.
Finally, for those players who want to get the most out of the game, they can add the OPTIONAL RULES they want. Optional Rules include Strategic Warfare, Panzer Strike, rear area operations, U-boat campaigns and more.
In addition, Blocs in Africa includes a dedicated Naval Module that allows you to relive major naval battles fought at Sea. Mediterranean between the British Royal Navy and the Italian Royal Navy and expands the use of naval units in the other Block games. It's part of that "two-sided" element, where BiA is a stand-alone element, but it also makes both Blocks in the East and Blocks in the West better and more complete. You even get blocks and stickers (and stages) to add more to those games!

STAGES

- Harpoon, June 21, 1942

Each scenario has different victory conditions and duration, with a game time of 1 to 2 hours .

We have mentioned the "two-sided" aspect of the blocks in Africa. In addition to the complete stand-alone North African campaign game, the game box also offers units and scenario books to play a system we call "Blocks in Europe", with four different 7-turn scenarios (in combination with a Blocks in the East or Blocks in the West game, or put all three together for the entire War in Europe - the gigantic "1939 CAMPAIGN".

You can also choose to combine all three just for the " ending", which begins in 1944 and runs until the end of the war.

FOG OF WAR

The game is best when played with the Fog of War ON ( wooden blocks are placed on the map in such a way that the opposing player cannot see them.) It's easy to keep track of current strength, but opponents will never know how strong an enemy area is until they engage with it.
